Dovetails

Project Description

Dovetails restaurant was a part of the 88 Limestone Street project which saw the restoration of the dilapidate State Heritage Listed buildings transformed into a vibrant and integral community precinct. The restaurant is located in what was originally the carpentry workshop for the Ipswich Technical College. The timber beams at the entrance of the restaurant feature engraved names of past students. Carpentry tools are etched into the ceiling panels and finely detailed brass strips are present throughout the entire design. All of these elements were incorporated with the intention of paying homage to the history of the Technical College.
