Project Description

The project involved the construction of a new Open Learning Centre to replace the existing library facilities, as an integral stage of the master plan for St Edmund’s College. The new Open Learning Centre incorporates a combination of Library and Resources Centre facilities, collaborative study and learning spaces, private study spaces as well as flexible learning and teaching areas. It is to be an innovative space for learners where they can collaborate and use state of the art technology in an environment that caters for diverse learning needs. The Open Learning Centre is to be a place for social mobility, a place for people with great ideas to accomplish them, strengthen community and collaboration opportunities that foster innovation and ideas. The Open Learning Centre is not just a learning place, it is a place for communication, community, purpose and ultimately creates a sense of belonging.
