Project Description

88 Limestone is a project derived from the clients desire to see the dilapidated State Heritage Listed buildings, which were once an integral part of the community, given new life through a vibrant precinct. The intention of the design was to highlight the original elements of the buildings and celebrate the rich history of what was once the Ipswich Technical College

A key focus of the design was to embrace the existing heritage elements while creating a new, modern identity for the precinct. The client described a multiuse development in the initial brief which was translated into the following; five commercial tenancies, a bar (Pumpyard Bar & Brewery), restaurant (Dovetails), function room (Lord Lamington Suite), and ice-cream parlour.

The simplicity and elegance executed in the final design is a testament to the beauty of the existing heritage buildings.
